Garstang Celebration of Art and Music. Garstang Arts Centre is hosting and organising a Summer long programme of festivities to celebrate all that our wonderful historic Fairtrade town of Garstang has to offer. Bringing our Community together in a joyous festival of Music and Arts The events incorporate the 2nd ‘Plein Air’ (Open Air Painting) Competition. The inaugural event was a resounding success bringing artists and visitors not only from Garstang but all areas of Lancashire, Yorkshire and beyond. The Ukuleles will be playing around the town, Tony Berry will host a ‘Big Band Night’ , ‘The Garstang Lecture’ – notable figures will give an account of their lives. Historic Blue Plaque Town Trail, Window Painting, Live Music, Concerts, Art & Craft Demonstrations and Workshops, Trails and much more

Steps to get it done:
Garstang Arts Centre is housed in a Grade II listed building. The former Grammar School dates back to 1760's. Its membership and groups cover a wide variety of Arts, Music, Dance, Social Activities and Cafe for local residents to interact and make new friends.

VolunteerGarstang Arts Centre is already a thriving hub of the community offering varied activities to the residents of Garstang and surrounding area. It has grown and developed since 1969. However, since Covid membership has not fully recovered and we need to advertise and promote and develop this wonderful facility to more people especially the fast expending new residents in the area. We want this celebration to showcase the Arts Centre and what it has to offer. Unfortunatly as a Non Profit Making Charity our costs have increased fourfold as a direct result of the Cost of Living Crisis and lower membership numbers. The building and our facilities need upgrading and improving to conform with current legislation and make it more sustainable for future generations.
