Fit Youth Referral Project is an inclusive comunnity based organisation. The Grant will be used to deliver a weekly football project that will target vulnerable young men aged 16+ who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. I know from my previous experience of being homeless that projects like this can make a huge difference to young people and adults who may be suffering from mental health issues and I am very keen to be able to set up football project that can support vulnerable people get active and stay active and hopefully stay off the streets. After I represented England at the Homeless world cup in 2018 i obtained m y Fa level 1 and I found myself inspired to lead others into a purpose defining experience through the love of football and team bonding acivities.

What costs are borne by Club Members……Due to the nature of the group we are targeting we will provide the activities for free for those members who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. However we are aware that for this project to be successful that we will also need to look at charging weekly subscriptions for those players who join the sessions that can afford it (i.e. players that are working). It is for this reason that we will open our sessions up to men that live in the local area to ensure that we can generate enough players to make the sessions successful. We also feel that by opening the group up to a wider audience this will also have a positive impact on the vulnerable people we are trying to target as it will help them to feel more engaged in the local community where they can make new friendships and develop healthy relationships.

Over the years I have been involved as a player  in many football projects in tower hamlets and after realising that most of them were happening  mostly on wednesday and saturday. After running a short survey we realised that the demand for friday football was very high
