This is a project that is fitness improvement focused - with activities designed with community groups ensuring cultural preferences, ownership and inclusion. It comprises workshops, discussion groups and activity. Elements include Happy Practice. Meditation Voice breathing, stretch, cardio and resistance as relevant to group needs. These elements will be experienced in a classroom setting and via outdoor 'green time' activities. Participants will have a fitness screening prior to engagement and adaptation needs identified. G.P. endorsement secured as required. Activities will include body mindful teaching participants to understand how they move and how it impacts on their daily living Activities will be targeted at those currently 'unconditioned' supporting their daily mobility and preparing them for more in-depth independent exercise. Workshops will include diet & nutrition advise.

This project will support currently unconditioned community members to healthier living via a safe framework that is designed with them, ensuring its relevance to need and cultural preferences. Classes & workshops provide easy access to movement, whilst promoting fitness & physical activity. Structured movement with embedded fitness Workshops and classes inform safe movement practice. Group participants are facilitated to create their preferred activities gain inclusion, develop team skills, and confidence improving physical & mental well-being. The project is delivered in a sharing positive framework. Cultivates enjoyment in movement and is delivered by a health & fitness professional with 23 years experience working in East London diverse Communities delivering social engagement projects.A full understanding of client needs will be met in and empathetic fun environment.
Steps to get it done:
The overall aim of this project is to make movement fun and relevant to the participant, removing barriers and creating interest in maintaining and developing life long fitness. Once participants have safe movement practices they will be referred onto local leisure centres and gyms. Also those with a specific interest in becoming a fitness mentor for their group will be mentored onto level 3 health & fitness via secured funding ( learning loan etc) to provide ongoing affordable support to their organisation, Workshops can include ( as relevant to group) happy practice. Body mindful. Basic anatomy. What exercise does. Exercise and you. Voice Breath work, Nutrition, Mind time, safe stretching, increasing cardio, resistance training. Preferred movement practice. Dancercise. Singercise. Outdoor activities. Walking to increase fitness. Woodland leisure green walk. City green mind time, All provision provides fit to move assessment, full administration and progress reporting

Tower Hamlets East London is the second most densely populated area in the UK. Culturally rich this diverse population has areas of multi deprivation. There is a clear correlation between deprivation and health inequalities resulting in low healthy life expectancy in the borough is below the national average
