We want to bring the festive atmosphere to Folkestone by ensuring we continue to have the very best display of Christmas lights we can afford. Last year we achieved the wow factor!

The lights in the trees and on many of the entrance routes to the town were deemed the best ever, but there is still a cost. We hope to raise the bulk of the money through grant applications and using our own resources but we will fall short, this why we appeal to you for pledges towards our target of £7,293.78.
The funding for this will allow us to create a display that’s representative of our towns’ stature and quality. A strong visual stimulus accompanied by a Lantern Parade, a Santa Christmas Parade, School Carol Singing Competition and other magical events, is essential to saturate the area with festive spirit – a festive spirit means footfall!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The superior quality of the lighting installation gives it longevity and a legacy to build upon in future years.
The presence of a bright town in the evening really encourages people to linger longer in the town to enjoy our offer.
Steps to get it done:
The Christmas Lights Switch-On will take place on Friday 22nd November. You will notice that the deadline is fast approaching, this is due to engineers finding unexpected complications. If you wish to donate, please hurry.
The Light Switch-on will begin with a Lantern Parade at 5pm. The Christmas Parade is on Saturday 23rd November starting at 11am, so please come along and cheer our community participants and the hard-working reindeer who are bringing Santa into town.
FTCM Ltd. is working in conjunction with the Folkestone Festival group, Creative Foundation, Folkestone Town Council, the Artmart, Folkestone Area Partnership Against Crime and Folkestone Town Team supported by Shepway District Council to bring you a programme of events and activities over the Christmas period to try to create a festive buzz.
