We have held Festability in the past, to great accolade. However, for the last two years, due to Covid restrictions, we have been unable to go ahead. The pandemic has seen changes to funding priroties and projects with a Covid focus, understandably, get priority. The last two years have been challenging for those who supported us previously and this means many people are not able to help us this year; sadly, some of those organisations and stalls haven’t survived the economic downturn. For many people with disabilities or special educational needs, the last two years has brought isolation, anxiety and for some a step backwards in their mental health. For those reasons, we want to make Festability 2022, which is happening on 18th June 2022, something very special. We want to bring everyone together, in a safe accessible way, to just have fun, meet friends and to dance like no one is watching. We need your help to do this.

What we'll deliver:

  • Live music acts on a large stage
  • Signers for each act (for our deaf guests)
  • Large speakers at ground level (for our deaf and blind guests)
  • Mobiloos (accessible changing facilities for guests in wheelchairs)
  • Portaloos with higher number of disabled access (to allow carers to assist)
  • Baby changing facilities
  • Chill out area (for those who need a break from the noise and activities)
  • Silent Disco
  • Adult and child ball pools
  • Fairground attractions
  • Karaoke tents
  • VR and Gaming areas
  • Information tents (for services in/around the area)
  • Craft and trade stalls
  • Food vendors
  • Beer tent (this is a music festival after all)
  • Accessible activities
  • Security
  • Station to venue accessible bus
  • Parking marshalls
  • Additional DBS checked staff to assist families when queueing or accessing facilities

Why it's a great idea:

Previous guests have said: “A blend of a unique & special feeling like a mainstream festival but inclusive. The uncountable laughing faces said so much more than I ever could” “It was amazing seeing everyone so happy and relaxed, being able to just enjoy themselves and carers not having to worry too much” “One of our ladies kept saying ‘I’m happy’ and another one was ecstatic that she could walk around the field and stalls completely independently.” “We had an incredible day and stayed until the very end! What an amazing atmosphere, and thank you to everyone involved. You made dreams come true.”

Steps to get it done:

  • Launch our crowdfunding campaign
  • Research the support available from previous years
  • Hit our target
  • Market our event to every possible outlet we can find
  • Deliver the festival on 18th June 2022!
  • Do it all again the following year
