We know that Crawley is predicted to struggle with up to 57% unemployment due to the Covid-19 epidemic. A large proportion of the economy is based around Gatwick airport, which has sustrained extensive job losses. For families, this has the potential to be devestating. The summer holidays are also approaching, and there is likely to be less support from schools. We are a local church who seek to support our community regardless of religious affiliation. We are aware that our schools in particular are concerned for their families, especially when we do not know to what extent the country will still be facing lockdown. We aim to support those families least likely to be able to access other support by providing food parcels and, crucially, small activity packs to be able to help the mental health as well as physical need of the families involved.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Local families will recieve food parcels and activity packs for their children. This will help relieve other local services, support basic needs of these families, and promote mental health particularly amongst the children of thse families.
