We are looking at creating a truly inclusive space at this recreation ground and part of this we need funds for the seating and landscaping to create a bit more interest than the flat space you can see in the photos. We have applied and been succesful for some toddler equipment recently but this still leaves us without somewhere to sit! And even children like to rest now and again! The park is between two housing estates and is a link to the local shops which would be great to encourage residents to rest a while in this park.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
As with every great playground seating is key to allow children to stay longer in the park, if your parents have a nice play to rest then they will let children stay for longer. As the leisure centre has a cafe facility they will be able to purchase a cup of tea. It will also hopefully attract parents with disabilities to bring their children along as it will be an attractive place for them to sit and watch their children play.
We would be able to apply for further funding for playground equipment from other funders for DDA items as well as dynamic items for the older children to burn off steam in the park.
Steps to get it done:
This group is passionate in making a difference to this space over the next few years and realise that Rome was not built in a day but that it is small changes that can make a big difference to residents lives.
