Every year Jackie's Drop In, the centre for those 16+ with disabilities, holds a very successful funday. This year we want the event to be bigger and better than ever before.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
On the 27th of June 2015 we will be holding our next annual funday. The funday is free and will run from 11am-6pm. There will be food and drink, a talent show, live music acts and entertainers, glitter tattoos, face painting, bouncey castle and lots more. Everyone will find something to do, old or young, with some surprise visits from some celebrities also planned.
Over the course of the year many successful performers and famous people come and visit the centre, as we are a fairly unique centre, comprising a multitude of rooms and areas we offer something for everyone, whether its just quiet space, or internet use, karaoke, gaming, arts and crafts, fun and games, the possibilities are endless.
We now want to take the centre further. Receiving no public funding, events arranged by ourselves and others ensure the centres success. The cost of stage rentals is one of the highest we face and by securing our own stage we, and other nearby charities, will be able to put on far more events.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
People love events, whether its a fashion show, dance show, a singer or general entertainment.
There is nothing better than seeing someone like Gabz from Britain's got Talent on stage or any other of the celebrities that come and visit us perform.
We want to run events throughout the year, with a Summertime Ball featuring some great performers, a fashion show, a talent show featuring some of our members, and other shows from pantomimes to comedy shows, to do this a stage is needed.
