The project aims to establish a business association along Peckham Park Road that will serve as a vehicle for ‘bringing people and businesses together’ for effective information sharing, advocacy, capacity building, engagement, consultation and targeting of business support services in order to bring economic prosperity to the area.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It encourages sustainable economic growth and wealth creation by improving the competitiveness of the local economy, including support for new and existing businesses and social enterprises. Employment-narrowing the gap with London employment rate made possible through a prosperous Peckham Park Road with successful local businesses and creating employment opportunities for local residents through new job creation by local businesses and self employment opportunities for the locals. Southwark-the place of choice to start and grow a business this is made possible as a result of free business support that will be provided by BBI and the advocacy role of the proposed association. Thriving Town Centre and High Streets is achieved through increased commercial activities and occupation of empty shops by new owners.
Steps to get it done:
The project will be managed and delivered by the BBI project management team, and led by Sunny Lambe who has over 20 year management experience in small and medium enterprise development and support, including business networks development management; accountable to BBI Board of Directors. BBI Board will be responsible for the overall management of the project. The board consists of local professional people, businesses and representatives from local organisations, and individuals from very diverse backgrounds. The reporting mechanism includes provision of administrative and project management support, guidance, project design, co-ordination, strategic planning, monitoring and reporting on monthly basis to the project management team.
