BBI will establish a business association along Peckham Park Road that will serve as a vehicle for ‘bringing people and businesses together’ for effective information sharing, advocacy, capacity building, engagement, consultation and targeting of business support services in order to bring economic prosperity to the area. It will promote enterprise culture among young people and local population. Promote and strengthen partnership-working relationships with Southwark Council and other stakeholders. Publish a business and community Newsletter to promote the area. Provide business support to pre-start and start-up across the borough. Provide capacity building support to local businesses and social enterprises. Provide advocacy support to local small businesses and social enterprises. Provide Channels of communication between Southwark Council and local businesses and social enterprises. Commission a baseline research on local business support needs in the target area

Employment-narrowing the gap with London employment rate made possible through a prosperous Peckham Park Road with successful local businesses and creating employment opportunities for local residents through new job creation by local businesses and self employment opportunities for the locals. Southwark-the place of choice to start and grow a business this is made possible as a result of free business support that will be provided by BBI and the advocacy role of the proposed association. Thriving Town Centre and High Streets is achieved through increased commercial activities and occupation of empty shops by new owners. Promoting Financial wellbeing and independence through increase in customer footfall into the area with increased spending.

Steps to get it done:

Furthermore, the project compliments other High Street Challenge funded projects in the area such as Pecan, The Means, Tower Bridge Road Alliance, The Blue Bermondsey BID, Latin Elephant, Represent, Pexmas, Three Cs Support, etc.
