At the pantry we rescue good quality food from supermarket, distribution centres and manufactures across Worcestershire. This food is then turned into food parcels for the pantry, the pantry is open to everyone in need and we don't work on a referral system. Our aim is to not only support local Family's with essential grocery's on a weekly basis but also in the process significantly reduce waste and food going to landfill. We currently pack food parcels for around 160 family's every Wednesday. The parcels are "ordered" on a time slot basis. Every Sunday evening at 6pm on our Facebook page we release a booking link for a dedicated collection slot. collection is then made in Droitwich currently at the Baptist Church. In addition to this we also carryout a monthly street kitchen where we will provide hot meals for around 60 people who are living rough or struggling. For this we also use the food and donations we have collected from the various stores.

What we'll deliver:

  • Ensure we can support as many Family's as possible with food parcels
  • Help run our cooling Vans for collection and storage
  • purchase essentials for those in need

Why it's a great idea:

Our mission is to ensure as many family's as possible have enough food to cook hot meals for the week as well as provide the essentials that are needed. No family should go without and no one should have to make choices this winter of heating or a meal. Our aim is to provide Family's and individuals food products to ensure meals can be cooked each day as well as support for children's school lunches. We welcome anyone who feels they need support to come to us and reserve a food parcel, we don't work on any referral scheme or means test anyone who comes to us for support. Anyone can benefit from the collections we do and a large food parcel against a small donation to support the running of the Community Pantry. As a result of our food collection from supermarkets, distribution centres and various manufacturers across Worcestershire we also reduce food waste going into landfill.

Steps to get it done:

  • Provide food every week to 160 + family's for the foreseeable future

We are a volunteer based charity and without local support, fundraising and our amazing volunteers this project wouldn't be able to survive. We are always looking for fundraising ideas and volunteers to support us :)
