We are a theatre company that specialzies in recovery in a Therapeutic commuinty and using creativity and shows around this subject to help artists like myself with Bpd, to showcase our talents, and to be able to succeed and work in our profession.
We have 5 star reviews for our show Piaf "Love conquers all" and Maria . We have toured all over the Uk to promote our message of recovery "Doing the breakdowns on the stage instead of in the streets"
We are now growing and creating workshops around a new musical and mental health "Encounters " at Amersham community centre which will grow into a musical and tour the Uk with the mesage.
Laurene Hope the founder, has been performing from the age of 6 as an accordionist and from the age of 13 as the lead soloist in the Israeli national choir. She directs, produces and acts and sings anything from Classical to jazz. She believes we are all unique and deserve to be recognized for our talents and skills and what we have to offer world, regardless of age.
She also created with the support of the technical advisor Jacob creswick, a Community tv station to go along with the theare company as after their success in Edinburgh selling out all the shows in 2014, they attempted to get onto the media and couldnt , so they created their own.
The other members of the company are Francis Kenny who plays piano and also acts in the shows, and is a talented musician and director who has got Scizophrenea, but uses his talents to help ease the symptoms.and Martin Ottewill Lauene's husband who is stage manager and also a great actor with mild Ocd.
Lately we have added on 2 lovely new member. Natasha Frank our Musical director and pianist and Jennifer Glatzhofer who is our Choreographer.for the workshops.
Laurene never uses medication for her mental health issues, but never tells anyone to not use theirs. She however believes 100 percent that her music and creativity is her "Insulin or medicine, and without doing all she can to work and pass this message on, she would struggle on a daily basis. The feedback that moving on theatre has received for the shows that they have toured is remarkable and really should mean that they get full houses and media interest. However in the world that we live in now, the celebrity culture seems to be the main aim of the media. So we create our own and we succeed.
