What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
In 2015, 3,673 people slept rough on the streets of London on any given night. 52% of these people are under the age of 25. For every 1 person sleeping rough in London there are 100 people sleeping in overcrowded hostels. Then for every 1 rough sleeper there is another 1,000 in overcrowded accommodation (including B&Bs, travel hostels). In 2015 there was a six percent increase of homeless people on the previous year. Then a 9% increase from 2015 to 2016. With London in a housing shortage, there is reduced housing and increased dep public resources dependance. The current system is focusing on placing youth into government housing and benefit payments. This has created a culture of people relying on the benefit system instead of training individuals for independance. The current housing system is overcrowded and failing. We wish to break this cycle and create training and support that empower youth to take control of their lives, inspire and become leaders in our society.
