The main objective of this company is to raise the awareness of metal health illnesses, promoting talking to each other and helping to reduce the stigma associated with this illness. The fundamentals of this business are two fold, it would appear at first glance that it was a only Coffee shop business with quirky decor and high quality products, however the purpose of the Coffee shop is to provide the funds for its’ main objective, the aforementioned Mental Health awareness support, promotion and eradication of the stigma associated with it.. We will be selling high quality food and drink as are the main companies in this field. Coffee, sandwiches, panini, toasties etc, will be the mainstay of the business. Our main customers will be people aged between 18 and 64, some will have mental health illnesses and others will be lucky enough not to.We are aiming to create the atmosphere of a caring, enthusiastic, professional company, with a concise message.

We at MMS are aiming to fill the gap in the support network of people who are suffering from a mental health illness. This gap is not only due to there being no service available like this, there is too great a demand for help on an already very stretched service, which is almost on its’ knees and with very long waiting times before someone can speak to a counsellor or CBT therapist. We aim to alleviate some peoples worries by assisting them in discussing their issues with their peers, catching the problems before they manifest into something worse and coming to terms in accepting they have a mental health illness. As we are told on a daily basis, if you talk to someone, anyone, it can help, we are going that one step further, by providing the arena for this to happen. As non medical people we intend to offer a service and support to people, that at the moment doesn’t exist! We will offer the support to patients who suffer from a Mental Health Illness.
Steps to get it done:
The coffee shop will be the income for the business and the revenue generated will cover all of the overheads leaving a surplus which will be ploughed back into the company to provide further services, support or expansion. The menu we will be offering will be comparable with or even better than the big name coffee shops, we will have additional quirky food and drinks on the menus that others may not have. The quirkiness of the menu will follow on through to the decor and all of the internal fixtures, fittings and crockery, nothing will not match, this is for 2 reasons, firstly it will add to the quirkiness of the overall concept of the decor and the second point is to emphasise the fact that it is “OK to be different”, which is one of the messages we are trying to get over to our customers.
