Affordable Housing for Eastbourne

Eastbourne Community Land Trust Limited By Eastbourne Community Land Trust Limited

We are a newly registered community Land Trust and a Charitable Community Benefit Society seeking to develop and create affordable homes in Eastbourne.

Our first project in Hampden Park will be a new build two storey block of 8 two-bed apartments. We are keeping costs down by using volumetric factory built units.

What we'll deliver:

  • We hope to house up to 32 individuals in housing need with our first project

Why it's a great idea:

Eastbourne is a beautiful town in which to live, but for those on low incomes, finding a place to call home is increasingly difficult due to low wages; the housing benefit cap; market level rents and high house prices. We want to house people and help them build a home and a life that feels safe and secure. With your help we can do this. Community Land Trusts are part of a growing movement where ordinary local people are finding innovative ways to create affordable homes for all types of people who need a place to live. One the land is bought or acquired and held in Trust then every home built on remains affordable in perpetuity for future generations to come.

Steps to get it done:

  • We hope to house people by the end of 2019
