We wish to develop the lake area adjacent to the school to create an improved outdoor space for the local community which focuses on the biodiversity and history of the area
Our beautiful lake area is used by the school and local people but is in need of some development . It benefits from varied biodiversity and wildlife around the lake, lovely walking areas to the side and is supported by a management plan maintained by the Medway Valley Countryside Partnership. Several local groups are involved with this including the East Malling Conservation Group and Clare Lake Volunteer Group amongst others. This project would allow us to add some safety measures, put in some information boards and nature watch, pathways and provide the community group with some tools to help to maintain this beautiful natural area to be enjoyed by all as a spot for wellbeing and relaxation. It will also be used by local schools for nature conservation studies, Eco-schools and Forest Schools.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Provision of a usable outside space for the local community for recreation and leisure which is reachable within the centre of the village. This will provide an area for families to enjoy and learn about the local wildlife, history of the area and to spend time in the outdoors.
