We are currently seeking location within Enfield Town Centre to ensure maximum accessibility & participation for all Enfield residents. If a suitable location is not secured, no monies will be collected. To create a space that makes a positive impact across 4 fronts- 1. Positive conservation & carbon positive local activities for communities to feel personally empowered about climate change. 2. Accessible artistic, creativity & leisure outlets 3. Problem solving & sustainability educational outlets 4. Local cohesion and community participatory activity We are forming partnerships across each of these fronts to ensure that the level of delivery is as expertly high as we would like & that outcomes are equally high. In addition to the conservation, artistic & community practices that will each yield intrinsic value; we also want to impact positively more holistic capacities to both provide outlets for solution finding; and shield against any mental duress of climate change.

What we'll deliver:

  • Provision of regular & accessible artistic, creativity & leisure outlets
  • Provision of positive conservation & carbon positive local ecological activities for all demographic groups
  • Provision of group-centric activities across all domains to nurture local relationships and social well being
  • Provision of group-centric sustainability & renewable energy activities

Why it's a great idea:

The project will act as an accelerator for local collaboration, not just amongst local community, but also in bringing together in a very practical way, leading national organisations in each of the 4 provisions. Where linkages are sometimes lost, this project will take a firm grasp of the different groups and harness them to ensure vibrancy and utility of outcomes for all. In providing this very practical convener and incubator type role; and as a very locally situated and immediately identifiable constant presence we believe we will create an invaluable bridge to local proactivity and empowerment. We want to also consistently challenge the status quo and historically accepted ways of thinking. In nurturing creativity via a myriad of activities both directly artistic and non, we believe we will foster a uniquely fit-for-purpose basis for delivering this innovation and beyond. Fostering system change mindsets and norm challenging will be central to all our activity and our value.

Steps to get it done:

  • Finalise hub physical site- preference for presently disused unit
  • Renovate to provide inviting community space that can host all activities
  • Continue to establish partnerships with core industry third sector leaders
  • Nurture local artistic partnerships
  • Finalise class timetable offering
  • Finalise exhibition calendar
  • Finalise community conservation day calendar
  • Source local employee and volunteer base
  • Raise additional finance
  • Install leisure equipment
  • Procure zero carbon personal transport options
  • Finish fit out of unit
  • Open for soft launch & launch proper
  • Build local participation & critical mass resident reach
