We want to be able to offer kids from as young as 5 the chance to learn team work, keeping fit, having fun while enjoying the game of cricket. The new Dynamo programme from the England Cricket Board gives youngsters between the ages of 7 and 11 the chance to try cricket out in a fun and relaxed environment. They will learn the skills of being a good team player, the essentials of the game of cricket and most importantly have fun while keeping active and fit which is a great concern in the future generations. To do this we need to train more coaches to be able to facilitate the sessions in a safe and structured manner. The coaches must attend first aid, safeguarding, coaches training courses and also the special Dynamos programme trainings. These all have to be paid for yet our coaches volunteer to do the courses and coach. All at the club value getting children involved at a early stage for the benefit of the children, the club and the local community.

What we'll deliver:

  • More trained volunteer coaches
  • More children benefitting from activity and coaching sessions

Why it's a great idea:

All the children that join and participate in the cricket courses and teams become well rounded individuals, learning to be a team player and respecting peers and adults. The matches teach youngsters the art of fairplay and how to win and lose graciously. These are skills many teenagers should have learnt but never had the opportunity. Our coaches will set a good example and instill these skills into the youth of the local community. The more coaches we have, the more youngsters could benefit form learning respect while having fun.

Steps to get it done:

  • Train the first new coach for the Dynamos programme
  • Offer the course to another primary school
