Canute Palace was a tavern in the 19th and early part of the 20th century, during World War 2 was damaged by aerial bombing leaving it in ruins. Since it was damaged little restoration or development has taken place leaving it neglected, until till now.
Linden Homes is re-developing the lower high street as a new residential/ commercial development. Due to Canute Palace being part of this development Linden Homes look to restore the palace to a functional building that will benefit both tourists and residences of Southampton.
Due to its uniqueness Linden Homes have offered it to be a public building that can be used for multiple functions depending on the public’s desires.
