We want to develop the pond area for children to be able to develop their understanding of wildlife and recognise different pond life as well as create further "bug homes" in the area.

The school has a pond visible to the whole community by the main road. It is fenced off and does contain some wildlife but it could sustain more which we would like to encourage. We would like to be able to further develop the surrounding area to encourage a greater range of wildlife, to include bug homes and further enhancement of the pond to include a ramp for animals such as hedgehogs to climb out if they fall in. We would like to add decking areas so the children can lie and pond dip safely and with care. We would also like signs to help them to read wildlife words and begin to develop their knowledge. We would like to purchase a shed and equipment to support pond dipping and related equipment. This is a project that would enable us to teach children about our world safely in our school grounds. The pond area is also highly visible to Blisworth Community and we would like all the community to know the value we place in educating children about our world and the creatures in it.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The project is vital as part of our future generations' understanding of caring for our world. It is even more important at the moment whilst we cannot take children on school trips to enhance the curriculum. Schools and pupils promoting messages about our earth, wildlife and environment also promotes it with adults. This is important as our world needs us to become more ecologically aware. It would serve as a small nature hub as well as being very visual and enjoyable to the village community as well. We would be so thrilled to give this opportunity to our children.
