Defibrillators save lives , it's a fact. For every minute that a person in cardiac arrest goes without being successfully treated (by defibrillation), the chance of survival decreases by 23 percent. At present the nearest defibrillators to Maulden are in Ampthill (Waitrose car park), The Rufus Centre (Flitwick) , The Star & Garter ( Silsoe) and the Post Office in Clophill. We would like to change that by installing 2 devices within Maulden, ideally at either end of the village. These devices will be located externally and can be used 24/7 by anybody. Should you ever find yourself in need of the device then 999 will provide you with the code to open the cabinet, they will also talk you through how to use it (they are semi-automatic) and you do not need training.
