In January 2016 we connected with AfroFunk Rio - female dance collective based in Rio who promote awareness to racism and women's rights in poor communities. Over the past year we have been following their work via social media
Inspired by how AfroFunk Rio use community dance as a tool for self expression and feminine empowerment this project aim is to bring together 50 participants from our local community and choreograph a dance performance on International Woman’s Day!
As events producers on a mission to inject the “Spirit of Rio” into London we shall be taking to the streets to perform our dance as a Flashmob performance in the centre of Peckham!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Because we believe in the potential for dance to connect communities across boarders. This project will not offer a new experience for our participants - it will also enable our project partners in Rio to see what can be possible in London!
