We would like help with our outdoor cooking area on the community garden its based around our pizza oven with no cover we would like to build a pergola to cover the oven and seating area.

Daisy meadows provides care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs and is located in Mexborough near Doncaster/Rotherham. At Daisy meadows, as part of a variety of horticultural and healthy lifestyle activities we also offer the opportunity to engage in the day to day care of a animals in the form of poultry( chickens, turkeys, ducks and guinea fowl), this really helps our visitors health and well being and boosts mood and self confidence. Taking care of animals, can also allow for the development of a better understanding of non-verbal communication, a vital skill for those with autism and learning disabilities. Our visitors have also benefited from these opportunities helping with mental health and wellbeing especially during these challenging times, being an outdoor project we managed to stay open where indoor projects had to close.

Why it's a great idea:
Over the years we have witnessed the many benefits of working outdoors with nature especially with the livestock it has a massive impact on people's health and wellbeing and also behaviour towards other people. It will help maintain a great green space for the community to enjoy right in the heart of the town also for the visitors and service users from surrounding towns. All participants will get to cook and eat fresh home grown produce that they have nurtured from seed right through to fruition from plot to plate within minutes in our handmade pizza oven,share cooking skills and discuss future project ideas and local issues in our outdoor cooking space. Children get the chance to take part in projects they don't get chance to do anywhere else in a safe environment.
