Recreating "Crumlin and the Way It Was" by Finola Watchorn (2009). We will recreate this history book from scratch, sell for a fair price and reinvest any excess funds into local history projects.
We're recreating Finola Watchorn's 250-page book "Crumlin and the Way It Was," last printed in 2009. The print files were discarded and there is no digital copy. With Finola's permission, our local society group, Crumlin & Walkinstown History Group, will retype, reformat, recreate, and publish the book. No copies are currently available in the library, and there's high local demand. We aim to make it accessible to all and ensure that the local historical content is available for future generations. The money will be used to reprint the book and promote and enable online sales of the book, with any excess to be reinvested into local history projects in Crumlin and Walkinstown. 📖🏰

If you have donated, your book(s) will be available on the day for collection. If you can't collect it, please let us know by emailing [email protected] If you wish to purchase additional copies of the book at the launch event, a cash payment would be appreciated as will nothave an electronic payment system at this time. In addition to softback copies of the book priced at €20 we will have some hardback copies available priced at €30. Delighted to announce the Book Launch for Finola Watchorn's "Crumlin and the Way it Was" (2009) t is on Saturday 22nd June at 2:30pm in St. Agnes Parish Hall. Thanks to generous donations from you and readers, businesses and support from Dublin City Council's crowdfunding initiative on the Spacehive platform. If you have already donated, you can pick up your book(s) on the day, or if that does not suit, please email us with your details and we will arrange an alternative. The cost of additional books is €20 and all profits will go into a Finola Watchorn Heritage Fund with will fund local heritage projects. So come join us for the launch, meet Finola, our volunteers and a guest speaker and celebrate Crumlin rich heritage.
Hi all, just to let everyone know, we finalised the re-creation of Finola's book. It is now at the printers. The printer will now send us some proofing copies and once finalised, the book will be printed. This process will take approximately 6 weeks. The launch of the book is likely to be closer to June and we will let people know as soon as we have a confirmed date of delivery from the printers.
