What we have: A fabulous village cricket setting Willing Youth and Senior players Dedicated Youth Coaching Team Superb facilities Fully supportive Management Committee Ever supporting Sports Club and Playing Fields Trustees What we need your support with: As per ECB guidelines and the lockdown rules from the Government, we have continued (as best as we could) to continue to maintain the grounds and playing facilities - but this has taken funds that would normally be replenished by fundraising, match fees and training subs - that we haven't received! The Youth Section had a major fundraising event planned (that had to be cancelled) & have not received the expected income from Youth Coaching fees and our participation in the ECB All Stars and Dynamos programmes we had signed up for. We know times are challenging, hence we are running our crowdfunding initiative, looking to raise at least £200 to allow us to kick start or season safely & appropriately as soon as we are allowed to.

What we'll deliver:

  • Deliver quality Youth Cricket Coaching to players aged 5-16 years
  • Maintain our outdoor Nets training facilities as required
  • Ensure our grounds are in the best shape possible for all Senior and Youth fixtures &/or friendlies
  • Ensure all Senior and Junior equipment is in full working order
  • Facillitate Coach Education - First Aid, Coaching Skills, Safeguarding across all grades
  • Through Cricket spectating & participating, bring revenue to the Club & Playing Fields bar, food servery and facilities

Why it's a great idea:

When we are permitted to, we will bring Youth Cricket Coaching back to Thursday evenings for all participants aged 5-16 years - through the dedication of our volunteers Coaching Staff and the use of our fabulous facilities which truly is the Heart of the village of Cookley! Moreover, by bringing back Senior Cricket, we hope to reinvigorate the huge warm heartbeat of sunny afternoons watching a game or games of cricket whilst enjoying our beautiful surroundings, well-appointed and spacious club bar and Pavillion food servery. Cricket is a very social and sociable sport - and we at Cookley Cricket Club (Seniors, Juniors, Management Team and Coaching Staff) all love and look forward to be back in the beating heart of the village!

Steps to get it done:

  • Having 6 Volunteer Coaches available for first Coaching Session
  • Having 25 young people at Training on a Thursday evening

All involved with Cricket (Junior, Senior, Management and Coaching) are volunteers - our players are dedicated, as are our ardent parents and supporters. Just a little financial nudge will allow us to kickstart our season and get off to a flying start as best we can, saluting all that everyone has done during lockdown to keep us safe - by staying home, protecting the NHS and saving lives - we COULD get through this, and we WILL. Thank You Watters Head of Youth and Coach Development Cookley Cricket Club
