Dudley town centre is considered to be one of the poorest areas in the West Midlands borough. With a great number of its population living on minimum wages, most parents can not afford to pay extra curricular activities.
Children in their free time stay at home while parents are doing 12 hour shifts. CReheart has been designed as a creative arts community project, a place where children from the local community can engage in creative activities whilst boosting their confidence, encouraging team work and social skills development in a safe environment.
What we'll deliver:
- Fully equipped space for creative activities
- A new dance floor for creative dance
- Arts and crafts sessions
- New equipment for a music studio
Why it's a great idea:
It is believed that creative arts and physical activities can contribute to personal wellbeing and social relations, mental physical and psychological capacities of a community can be strength trough creative arts. Creative arts helps children grow in physical social cognitive and emotional development children also practice imagination and experimentation as they invent new ways of creating. With CReheart project children will engage in fun creative activities whilst boosting their confidence, encourage team work social development. They will also get to learn the importance of being part of a community counteracting their social isolation.
