The Program was created for young people living in the Barnet and Enfield area, aged 12 to 17, who are at risk and vulnerable to being Criminally and Sexually exploited by violent gang members. It is our aim to help end the grooming and exploitation of children and young people, by raising their awareness and help change the narrative. Vulnerable Young people (YP) known to local support services i.e. Youth Services, Education, Social Care, Police etc will be referred, the young person will enter an agreement and register on the App, (with parents permission) where they will start earning reward points while working with NTJC CIC, Parents and the various support services i.e. Schools/Colleges, Youth Offending Service, Social Care etc for a time limited period. Earning Points for: Behaviour (Home, Education) Attendance Engagement Achievements Offending Behaviour Missing Episodes The Rewards will be age appropriate and in the form of non-monetary rewards, further info below
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The benefits of the NTJC CIC Program, is to help reduce the Knife, Gun and Gang youth on youth, related crime, and help bring an end to the epidemic that has infected our community, of the senseless stabbing, and mindless killings of young people. Also to Reduce the number of young people going Missing from home, Care and school, involvement in County-lines, reduce Youth Offending, and School Exclusions. Our aim is to unite young people and end territorial PostCode Wars for all children, hence the proposal to work across boroughs where it is deemed safe to do so. So that young people can roam freely without fear from borough to borough, and to be exposed to better opportunities without fear, creating a better future and happy memories. Our Mission “YOUNG PEOPLE HAVING A FUTURE”, and “CREATING GOOD MEMORIES” that will positively impact on their emotional, physical and psychological well-being.
Steps to get it done:
Children and young people who are involved in gangs, are surprisingly small, but have a disproportionate large impact on the community. We aim to successfully disrupt the grooming of young people into gangs and prevent further association with gangs, by offering young people who are vulnerable to Criminal exploitation and at risk of offending alternative positive options and “money can’t buy” opportunities, helping them realise their own protentional and aspirations, through our Program, thereby preventing or decreasing their loyalty to their affiliated gangs. Research shows that Reward points systems can have the greatest impact on providing incentives to increase motivation and performance. People who received frequent rewards immediately upon completion of the task will stay “intrinsically motivated” to perform well and continue completing tasks, even when the reward is no longer offered.
