We want to provide arts and crafts materials to use in sessions for people with dementia so their family carers can attend our Carers Wellbeing Programme (delivered over 5 half days). Creative activity is proven to be uplifting for well-being and people have reported huge benefits for improvement in relaxation after their involvement in such sessions. We know that providing these sessions will give carers a much needed break from their caring role, as well as the chance to learn some valuable coping skills, without the worry of who will look after their loved ones. Funding is required for the art materials for the participants.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
• Research shows that “arts activities can improve wellbeing and quality of life for people living with dementia.” (Windle et al, 2018) • We have already delivered sessions like this, with hugely positive feedback from those involved. • Materials will be used for 6 programmes over three years
