we are running a community centre on an estate that has no community facilities apart from what we provide, our current building is an old school building which was given to us by the council, in 2006 -2007 due to the council rebuilding a new school, as we were attached to the old school and there was no room for community facilities on the new site so were re-located to the old infants school. The building is very run down and in desperate need of a face lift and updating or even flattened and re-built. This would be a great opportunity for the community to have a building with are the facilities what they need and want in a local building instead of having to travel on buses to access them. our estate has a lot of families that become isolated due to the fact they can not go far and wide to join in with activities.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
this project should become a reality because it is something that the community really need, we know this is needed as the building we are in at the moment is well used but is very run down it also needs new signage so people will be able to find us. We are inspired to try and raise the money to build this facility because we are all volunteers who give up our time to provide a service to the whole community and have done so for over 20 years so we are very passionate about what we do and provide. this will then benefit the whole community and hopefully further a field . We would also increase what we offer to everyone from families who needs these activities to the elderly who rely on us for the support they receive and put on more events like our annual talent show which showcases hidden skills and abilities and empower people to achieve in life. At the moment the building has an oil fired heating system we are hoping to update this so it is more environmentally friendly.
Steps to get it done:
Promote the following *Health and wellbeing *Community cohesion breaking down barriers and bringing all the different communities together
