A community theatrical performance for Christmas 2022. Theatre professionals will guide the community to put on a Christmas show in the heart of their community. Plus a transfer to Storyhouse.
Everyone is welcome to join in this festive performance project free of charge - families, couples, individuals, young and old. The community cast will be guided by experienced and skilled theatre professionals to put on a show for Christmas 2022. The project will be based and performed in the Neston area but all residents in Cheshire West can join. Culminating in a local performance with an additional transfer to Storyhouse to involve as much of the community as possible at local and large scale venues. Themes and material will be created by the cast members in collaboration with the professional theatre practitioners. No experience necessary. Participants can be actors, stage managers, wardrobe supervisors, props makers, lighting and sound designers/operators, designers etc. Participation in the arts improves health and well being and after the pandemic this activity will be needed to bring the community back together for a shared aim and for fun.

Why it's a great idea:
Participation in the arts improves health and well being (Physical and mental health). Participants will benefits from the input of industry professionals to guide them in what will be a community event. This will give people the opportunity to perform and the wider community the chance to be in the audience. Benefits include: building self esteem, team collaboration, experiencing the arts in the heart of the community, building new friendships, learning new skills.
Steps to get it done:
We intend to book the Civic or Town Hall in Neston as soon as Covid restrictions allow and the professional actors will come on board. To deliver this show in the community we must hit our target so please support us by pledging towards our campaign

VolunteerLittle Actors Theatre Company is an award winning professional community theatre based in Neston. All workshops are led by professional actors.
As a Registered Charity, Little Actors offers a range of activities and events in the community. To ensure access for all, 50% discounts or FREE places are offered for low income families. Little Actors works to an ethos of access for all and improving health and well being through participation in the arts. As well as enriching the quality of life of the wider community.
Community theatre work includes:
Theatre Club for primary school children - comprising drama and musical theatre workshops for the under 12s. Workshops lead to end of term and community pressentations.
InterACT Youth Theatre - they annually work with National Theatre Connections (new writing for new people). For ages 12+. This group also enters productions in the Leverhulme Drama Festival.
DramaTots for pre-school children and their carers/parents
Brightlights Theatre Company (over 50s) - they create work for the Leverhulme Drama Festival and community performance. The group aims to tackle social isolation and loneliness.
Intergenerational Theatre Company - funded by CWAC Crowdfund. This group is preparing for a community show in Neston and at Storyhouse for later in 2022.
Adult Tap and Dance classes
Small scale touring theatre - our team of professional actors create work to tour to small scale venues and schools.
2022 saw the introduciton of Craft-A-Noons for older adults and pre-school children.
During the pandemic, Little Actors delivered much of its work online via Zoom. Many video and audio projects were completed and can be seen on the You Tube channel - Little Actors Theatre Company - YouTube.
