With the waiting list for NHS counsellors being so long, I thought it would be a good idea to start helping each other out. With covid-19 restrictions shining a brighter light on mental health issues such as: depression and anxiety. I think we can all agree that something needs to be done. With community buddy benches, these will provide a place for people to sit and talk if they wish to do so.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
With the right promotion and community support/involvement, we could all help each other in our own communities. Thousands of people have spent the last year mostly alone and people are desperate for someone to talk to. With community buddy benches, you may sit for a while, have a chat with a stranger and hopefully feel a little better afterwards. There will be signs around the community buddy bench, informing people to only sit here if they wish to chat.
