The Colourworks building is located on Wallis Road, Hackney Wick. We are aiming to raise capital to fund the winning design of a competition to redesign the large tired frontage and front courtyard of this former printing factory. The competition is to be open to all and widely promoted across multiple platforms.
The winning design will be chosen according to suitability to to the local area and the space's use as an arts club.
This street is soon to become a major thoroughfare for access to and from the Olympic Park and Hackney Wick, due to the imminent opening of a new accessible bridge and will see thousands pass by every week. Can you help transform this unloved wall into a local landmark, vastly improving the image of this street for all?
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project will help to further regenerate and rejuvenate Hackney Wick, which is currently experiencing exciting transformation.
The project will impact all those who visit the area and who are connected to the Wick; from its vibrant creative community to property developers looking to generate attraction to their new developments.
A more diverse, aesthetically rich and textured environment will attract more tourists, visitors as well as new residents, bringing further wealth and prosperity to the area.
For those young aspiring and up and coming artists who attend our training sessions here at the Colourworks the psychological impact will be greatly felt, inspiring positive energy and success. Environment has a huge impact on mood, mindset and motivation.
