To help make North Somerset an even better place to live, work, study and visit
The ‘Mobile Maker Space’ will deliver inspirational coding and 'making' activities using micro:bits, RaspberryPis, Arduinos, electronic components for paper circuits, soft circuits using textiles, and more. Codingbug will travel to primary and secondary schools around North Somerset to offer workshops to different year groups. The workshops will be tailored to suit the students' school year and will support the STEM primary and secondary curriculum. Teachers will benefit from the ‘Mobile Maker Space’ by observing their students collaborate during the workshops and using the knowledge gained to challenge their students in the classroom. The funding will cover the cost of the hardware and the cost of delivering the first ten workshops. Schools may need to pay for future workshops and more funds will be required to cover cost of consumable materials. However, I intend to work with local companies who wish to sponsor the delivery of workshops.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We need to equip our students with the knowledge they need to prepare them for the jobs of the future. The ‘Mobile Maker Space’ will give students the opportunity to learn new skills and inspire them to use their creativity to 'make' rather than become just consumers of technology.
