We would like to extend our tiny clubhouse to allow youngsters somewhere to shelter from rain showers, somewhere to meet socially, and somewhere for parents to sit while they wait for their children.

We are a small community-based tennis club in Babbacombe, Torquay, run entirely by volunteers. The Club was started in 2002 to bring affordable tennis to young people who could not afford to go to a traditional tennis club. One of the first projects we undertook was to build a clubhouse. But with a main room of just 10 feet by 7 feet, plus a small office, we desperately need to extend it and make it fit for purpose. By ingenious use of a couple of adjoining but obsolete storage areas, we plan to increase the inside space four-fold while barely increasing the footprint of the building. We have had quotations for building costs around £20,000 and would like to allow a further £5,000 for fixtures, fittings and decoration. We have embarked on a fund-raising year but we would also like to try and attract some external funding from yourselves. VolunteerWe are a community-based junior tennis club with an adult section. We are run entirely by volunteers who not only run the club but also do all the maintenance and gardening work around the site. We make our courts available free of charge to seven local primary schools, and to local secondary schools for a small charge.
Project Owner: The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
