We want to set up a stage and a screen to entertain shoppers and locals and give everyone a totally new perspective on a familiar area. Anyone coming shopping at the Angel will probably need to cross Liverpool Road at least once and we want to make it a place to linger and enjoy for one day only.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This is an excellent way of bringing the area together both physically and emotionally. Liverpool Road divided the N1 Shopping Centre and Upper Street from the supermarkets and Chapel Road so bridging the two will enable people unfamiliar with one side or the other to exp-lore the unfamiliar. We expect this day to increase trade in Chapel Market - an area not on the tourist trail and one with the highest vacancy rate in the area. The market has been in decline for some years and this has a knock of effect on the small businesses trading along Chapel Market. We believe this is a way of bring a new audience to the street and at the same time be fun for everyone in the area who can, in another way be an 'audience' in Liverpool Road where they can watch the screen and listen to music or just lounge about.
