Our service is usually offered to people who are referred from an outside agency, they attend once a week and we offer a 'shopping list' approach. Clients are given a list of everyday items which they can select from, while their shopping is being 'picked' we offer a friendly ear, coffee and a snack and the opportunity for prayer should this be appropriate. We also have on hand the facility to enable assistance with applications for various outside financial and housing help. During this Covid19 season we have seen an increased number of people requesting assistance due to loss of income, disability, and illness to name a few. In order to adapt and remain open, we have adapted to a delivery and collection service, these are pre assembled bags of shopping, food and toiletries designed to help fill the gap during this time and are lifelines to our service users. As we spread compassion and kindness, we will see: early intervention and preventing families and individuals from slipping further into crisis. We will see mental health kept healthy, we will see families and individuals fed during this season. We will see greater unity, generosity will strengthen our city, Leicester will be prosperous through generosity to those struggling the most.
