Roller Station offers a unique way of celebrating a birthday or special occasion on skates and would like to build Enfield its very own state of the art roller rink.

In our premises we will build a state of the art roller skating rink that will cater for 100 people at any given time. We would also like to incorporate a soft area for spectators and skaters to relax in. Once through reception you will be led to a Perspex pod, seated comfortablely and you will exchange your shoes for roller skates and protective guards. Our Skate Rangers will teach you basics, allowing some practise time. When you feel comfortable you will be lead through to the rink and be able to skate to the music of your choice. There will be giant bean bag strategically placed allowing you to sit and chill whenever you like! Our cafe will be modern, providing extremely comfortable seating. We will offer healthy refreshments suitable for everyone.

Why it's a great idea:
A roller rink in Enfield will give people in the borough a great new way of celebrating. It will provide a great place for people to have fun, it will provide employment, work placements and apprenticeships for the people of Enfield. The flexibility that we want to share is that we will provide the hours needed for people who want to work but may be restricted by school drop off/pick up times. We would like to encourage and inspire children of school age that keeping fit and active is fun. We would like to support local schools with work placements. We would like to play a strong part in the community and be a place that supports and nurtures individuals, while being a fun environment. It is important that our project becomes a reality so that people from all walks of life have a place that we can celebrate. Knowing that everyone is here for the same reason - to have fun!
Steps to get it done:
Whilst our aim is to promote roller skating as a way of keeping fit and healthy, we do believe that a roller rink will help to boost the local enconomy by drawing people from other near by boroughs and have an impact on jobs within the borough.

VolunteerSix years ago I decided that I wanted to start my own business. The world of accounting had been a very interesting learning curve but it lacked the fun element to work that I craved.
I knew that I wanted to create an environment where people of all ages could have fun under the same roof and experience that “good vibe family feeling” and the only way I could do that would be to pursue my own business venture. A company that will facilitate the celebratation of a birthday and any other momentous occasion on roller skates.
Being made redundant at this time of austerity and being the wrong side of 40 from society’s point of view, has spurred me to put my ideas on to paper with the view that for the next 25 years I will be doing something that will make me happy and make others happy too.
I am AAT Qualified with over 10 years of accounting experience in accounting environments. My responsibilities have ranged from general bookkeeping, assisting busy accounts departments, financial and management accounting including departmental accounts, VAT returns, P&L/balance sheet and invoice discounting reconciliations as well as managing a team.
Internal and external customers have commented on my professionalism, tact and diplomacy, my ability to defuse a situation with ease and remain calm under pressure.
Managing a finance department has given me a greater understanding about what it takes to run a business.
The knowledge and experience I have gained as an accountant and a mother I believe this to be a fierce combination and have armed me with the tools to think outside the box.
