Cameramatic is a not-for-profit photography studio and educational collective with the objective of passing on the craft of photography (including shooting, developing, and printing) to the next generation for self-improvement and helping free expression. Lessons, materials, and premises are open to all - regardless of age, ability, neuro-divergence, education, or age. We also offer paid services including studio and darkroom hire, portraits, development and printing - and are well stocked with film, printing paper, and chemistry. Private lessons are also available upon request. All our staff are volunteers and all proceeds go directly to courses reserved for children and the disadvantaged. Furthermore, it will also be active in the film community by offering gallery space for photographers to sell their work and introduce them to local events to offer their services.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Aside from the benefits of learning a new skill, this will instill an entrepreneurial spirit. Students will learn how to sell their work, negotiate rates for photographing local events and marketing, both online and print.
