the basis of the idea is it to have a hub in the community where food is made and eaten. I want to be able to produce affordable and healthy meals. So essentially it will be a inclusive cafe with a bike which can deliver food to local businesses and the community. I initially thought about a food van but the license to sell food is problematic and also London parking etc! This is why it would be better to have a bike and keep people fit at the same time! I would love to offer training to the community. I know that once you become isolated and jobless it is difficult to get out of it. With somewhere to get skills and to give you a sense of purpose it can turn a life around. I have had a varied past. I also was a young mum who had many struggles. I can relate to alot of people in the community that I currently work in. I also worked with Reed employment on a project getting long term unemployed back in to work. So have experience of helping people find employment and training.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This is something that is needed. London at times feels lonely and unwelcoming. London is wonderful and a melting pot of amazing people. Through my work as a Project Manager working on a food project. I realise food brings people together. It's also something we have in common. We all have to eat! I want to create a space for all. I also want to create opportunity for the community. The families that I have met through my work want a way to get back to work. The group I would like to consider helping is mother's needing skills, training and support. Making the cafe a place that is pay as you can means people that can will. People that can't pay as much will still be able to be part of it. I am passionate about this idea. I have interest in a financial backer. I want to make this a reality!
