BringSomeStringStreetArt is a project that will be led by Stephanie Griffiths BAFTA award winning animation director who will run a series of fun day string animation workshops where various groups from community centres and local residents will be invited to attend - Have a go at animating string and produce string art flags from the artwork that they create - 6 day workshops which will have different themes related to London , the idea is to then hang-up string flags on the 12 lamposts of Inverness street to show case the creative work... as well as having the string art flags hung up exhibited I will run for two weeks before the final screening event my SomeStringDifferent animation station for anyone to try out string animation . Then on the last day screen all the clips produced for a grand finally
What we'll deliver:
- Run 6 day animation and string art flag making workshops
- set up a potentially 2 week exhibition in inverness street - flag string art
- screen everyones animations grand finalee
- give participants certificates - I tried SomeStringDifferent
Why it's a great idea:
This project will give people a chance to try something different -with guidance and encouragement throughout learn how to animate and more importantly be creative the aim is to encourage anyone to have a go even if they say they cannot draw. there is nothing more exciting to see your animation and art work on display and been screened publically. Aswel as the workshops the artwork strung up on the lamposts will spice up the street itself.
Steps to get it done:
- will contact those community centres who have shown keen interest and book slots for workshops
- purchase all art materials requred to run the String animation workshops
- confirm booking a space at Arlington House to run the 6 day workshop and 1 evening screening.
I see this potentially as a 4 week project to include the 6 days running the string animation and flag string artwork making workshops at various given days and time to edit add sound and music to the animations clips - setting up the exhibition and running the drop in two weeks SomeStringDifferent station with a screening to showcase everyone's contribution and art and animations films
