BT Community Broadband Funding will pay 50% of the installation costs if we can provide sufficient funding from the local community. We need to lay nearly 4Kms of trenched and buried Fibre Network and that's going to cost a lot of money. We are in the countryside and close to a Fibre exchange, but like many properties across the UK, we are either too far from or have an Exchange Only Line.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The digital transformation is taking hold of our lives at an alarming rate. The Internet of Things (IoT) estimates that 34 billion devices* will be connected the World Wide Web (WWW) by 2020 and the way we interact with our devices, homes, friends and families will be vastly different to todays mediums. During** years 2011 and 2013, 90% of all the data in the world has been generated and it is expected that every 2 years we will generate 10 times as much data. We cannot even upload a picture to social media!
Steps to get it done:
We are in a developed country where we are going backwards when it comes to digitisation... We can help make a change and bring Fibre to a small community (less than 20 residents) who have young families who need to access online content for Education. We have businesses that cannot upload media to help promote their efforts and hard work.
