We want to create a duel purpose working environment for the public & the charity. We want to have a central hub that we can use to set up a community support group for people with asthma and people that care for asthmatics, a place where we can sign post to other health organisations that help deliver a healthier community such as stop smoking help and advice centre's, Mental Health teams. To establish a central location that the charity can use to deliver asthma specific training courses for all. Its also important for us to create a base for the charity to operate from this will help us build our team of volunteers with the mission of improving asthma awareness initially across Hull & the East Riding. Long term it will enable the charity to increase its public benefit ultimately reducing hospital admissions in these regions and promoting a healthier Hull & East Riding. This will help Breathe for Cameron ultimately change the face of asthma one breath at a time.

What we'll deliver:

  • To create a community hub to deliver asthma specific training for everyone
  • To create a dynamic working environment for the charity to enable it to promote asthma awareness
  • To create a headquarters for the charity to deliver its free inhalers for school's scheme
  • To create a sign post service to others that indirectly improve the health of asthmatics
  • To improve the health and well being of everyone who either suffer with or support someone with asthma

Why it's a great idea:

In the UK 5.4 million people in the UK suffer with asthma 1.1 million are children, It's estimated that 3 people every day die because of asthma astonishingly 2 of these deaths are preventable with better asthma awareness and management. Hull and the East Riding have some of the highest prevalence of asthma in the UK. In 2015 the NHS Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding spent on average £4.6 million on avoidable asthma related hospital admissions, it is our aim to reduce that number by creating a better support and awareness platform.
