Braintree District Foundation was founded in 2015 by Caroline Burrows-Wren and Joanne Beavis, two very different local people with a common objective. To promote a philanthropic mind set, bring people and businesses together and encourage sharing of wealth with those at a disadvantage. The Foundation needs a base to enable the Foundation to grow and to involve the community further, giving them a say in their community by supporting their projects and needs.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Many local individuals and groups have great ideas but struggle to raise the money they need to see these ideas actually happen. By having a Foundation, we can encourage that fundraising by working with local businesses and organisations, The Foundation will be a Central fundraiser for these ideas. The Shop can only make this task easier, being visible and prominent, having a place where donors and come and talk about the projects that are struggling just makes fundraising easier, makes us more transparent to our donors and beneficiaries which is so important.
Steps to get it done:
The shop will be run by local people, stocked with locally created art and crafts, it is intended that the Foundation will become a legacy for the Community.
