We plan to take photos of local residents, who are part of the BAME community, to highlight the richness of their individual cultures and lives. We will work with local professional photographers to take candid and sensitive portrait photos of Islington residents based in the Holloway area. Also, each image will have a short story or description about the subject of the portrait. We will then display them in our hall at the Ringcross Community Centre
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The main aim and benefit of this project is to increase awareness of the stories and lives of local BAME individuals who have a story. Hopefully, seeing themselves being celebrated will create a great sense of pride and representation. The hall of our community centre will become an exhibition space for the month of October, allowing it to become a hub for conversation. We will create a book that people can take home that features all the work in the exhibition. Furthermore, sales and foot traffic will both boost funding and awareness of the support work done at The Pilion Trust.
