People make places great. We all have a stake in the towns, villages and communities of Kirklees.
The 21 schools forming Bbest Community Hub empowering young people to be their best selves through the medium of music and dance. An epic final performance captured on film for all to enjoy.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We will deliver an inspirational school-based project to empower the young people of the BBEST community to connect to their strongest self, know their value and live their best lives. To address the issues of youth crime that negatively effect the safety and futures of our young people - the key action is to empower children with a foundation of positive self-esteem alongside an understanding of how powerful their choices are. Embed these values of self awareness and community into young people in really fun and memorable ways. Documenting the journey of our young people as they experience new genres of music and dance. Young people will take part in videography workshops and experience the pre and post production. process before getting behind the camera as budding film producers. Workshops to be led by local award winning film production company, inspiring learners to follow their dreams and unlock the potential of their own hobbies and interests.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Deliver positive activities as a diversion away from crime, gangs, and violent offences. Music, song, dance and videography workshops delivered in schools, pupils will showcase their work to peers, parents and the public and take part in a professional recording studio experience. To increase resilience, motivation, and aspirations in young people by offering opportunities to learn new skills and work cohesively with peers across the school network. Young people will be empowered to make good choices, avoiding the negative effects of youth crime. Help young people to make positive choices to stay safe, inspiring them to grow their character, mindset and imagination - children are empowered to unleash their unique personalities and talents and are celebrated for doing so. Introduce opportunities for young people to find their voice through the power of music and the discipline of dance. Opening minds to what can be achieved through positive and cohesive work towards a common goal.
