The Arts Festival will take place over 3 days in June 2019, drawing on our experience of providing a variety of events over 3 previous years: poetry, music, talks on local history , craft and writing workshops and walks to show the literary, geological, botanical features of the area which have contributed to its current appearance, shape and exceptionally rich biodiversity.. In previous years we have attracted people who did not know Binsted and who have commented with surprise and pleasure on what they have learned about this tucked-away area,- next year we'll reach out further The Festival is a small scale undertaking, using mainly local speakers and event leaders, in no way competing with more prestigious events e.g Petworth Festival. But it cannot happen without your support-please pledge what you can, even £5 will help.We hope to recoup c.£1000 towards the overall costs from attendances at events . Our crowdfunding target, is £400 as a contribution to publicity costs.

What we'll deliver:

  • Three days of interesting arts events in the small village of Binsted, ased in the twelfth century church
  • Involvement in learning new skills of artistic expression and opportunities for being a volunteer in support
  • Publicity materials well produced and targeted to attract good audiences

Why it's a great idea:

The Arts Festival provides a focus for community activity and involvement, demonstrates the way the arts can celebrate the countryside, providing pleasure and stimulation, and brings newcomers to an area of great beauty and peace, much needed in a world of conflict and daily hassle..

Steps to get it done:

  • Sign up leaders of events and plan programme for the 3 days
  • Develop advertising and promotion
  • Plan detailed implementation and ensure sufficient volunteer support
