It should be a pivotal event in the Bentswood calendar that brings the whole community together to have fun and build community pride. What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
A successful fun day will attract well in excess of 400 residents and in order for this to happen we need to be able to put on good attractions. There are a variety of important benefits to involving as many residents as possible which may include: * Giving families a welcome, affordable week day break which is in the heart of their community. It also gives children, young people and their families access to activities and opportunities that normally would not be possible for them. * The BCP has many partner agencies providing a valuable range of services and support that are very accessible and relevant to many of the residents. This day is a fantastic opportunity to put them together. * It enables the BCP to recruit more resident volunteers to support it wide range of social action projects during the year.
Steps to get it done:
The Bentswood community (approximately 2.5k households) has the highest percentage of social housing in the district. The fun day is a valuable opportunity for residents and partners to work together to address isolation and build community cohesion.
