What’s important to you? The right to have a drink and a dance? To stay out late -- catching up with old friends and making new ones? We take these things for granted, but, for someone with a learning disability, going out and ‘being just like everyone else’ is life changing. So many people with learning disabilities tell us they feel excluded from mainstream venues. Some of them have been discriminated against, and don’t feel safe. For others it’s a lack of accessibility that’s the problem. Bubble Club isn’t a day centre or a disco. It’s a vibrant, creative, fun, funky night club run by and for people with learning disabilities and those without. People with learning disabilities have the right to expect more than just food on the table and a safe place to live. They deserve the chance to spend their time with friends! But without government funding our brilliant Bubble Club community is under threat.

What we'll deliver:

  • 46 x Friday Planning Workshops for the Bubble Club Promotions team to organise, plan and campaign the BC agenda
  • Opportunities for 8 x people with learning disabilities to be skilled-up and empowered to take charge
  • 6 x Top quality accessible inclusive live music club nights - each with unique theme, line-up and artistic direction
  • Development of a solid and sustainable financial plan to ensure our future progression.

Why it's a great idea:

Our team are passionate about partying, creativity and equality. We’re standing up for talent and diversity. For DJs who pack the dance floor. For flirting, friendship, and late night laughter. And we’re not just a club night. The exciting new phase of the project will match up members with people from the media and creative industries to develop even more training opportunities, as well as a platform to share their stories and spread the word. In the face of devastating cuts to local authority budgets, support for the Bubble Club is needed more than ever. It’s a difficult time but we won’t give up, because we know what we do is really important and we have seen its impact first hand. With your help we can do more than put on a club night. We can make magic happen. So join us in keeping London OPEN for people with learning disabilities. ACT NOW and #Backthebubble.

Steps to get it done:

  • Book studio space for a year of Friday workshops
  • Book 6 dates over the next year at local nightclub for Bubble Club events
  • Plan and deliver programme of top quality, undiluted club nights that are accessible for all

We have a great selection of Bubble Club rewards available as an incentive to pledge generously! Please see visit www.bubbleclub.org/rewards! It’s the biggest social network you can get for someone with a learning disability like me,” – Samantha, BC Trustee
