AY Group Community Services CIC (AY CIC) is a not for profit organisation which is planning to provide a Hub where people of all ages, cultures and abilities are encouraged to use the community facilities offered. The aim is to provide community cohesion and wellbeing. We believe passionately that the area of East London is in desperate need of Community Hubs to provide a safe, secure and pro-active set of services. The aim is to provide services that will promote social enterprise, training services, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities within in the local area. Furthermore, the Hub will also be the operating facility for Acknowledging Youths CIC and for Eysiat and will require dedicated space in which to operate. Acknowledging Youths aims to provide First Aid training to everyone, and Eysiat is our clothing brand aiming to provide job-interview clothes for people who cannot afford it, and sport equipment for our community.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
- With more than 600 community having closed in the last few years in London, mostly due to the lack of funding, we believe they are essential for the well-being of a community. It helps people gather, socialise, learn new skills, feel safe. All of this is key for people from disadvantaged backgrounds to feel weel. - As knife crime continues to surge in London (more than 30 deaths since the begining of 2019), we believe that our motto « Saving lives-not taking them » is the key for these figures to go down. Providing First Aid for everyone - at work or at home - is something that we want to implement on the long-run thanks to Acknowledging Youths. - Having suits or sport equipment is very difficult for disadvantaged people. Therefore, Eysiat aims to provide everyone, no matter their background, with sport equipment such as tennis rackets or clothes for them to be able to play. Moreover, we want to find new partners in order to provide suits for job-interviews.
