To lay a concrete base for a dome observatory with a 10 or 12 inch telescope inside. To fence the area of for security. To place a small shed inside fence for storage and to power everything by solar panel on a similar basis to High Legh community observatory The observatory will be open to the public on clear nights so they can use the telescope to look at the universe and planets.we will continue to give talks in the Wincham community centre 1st thursday of every month

- give talks to other groups ie scouts/brownies etc
Why it's a great idea:
We serve the whole community and surrounding area with links to other astronomy groups. We give talks to different groups ie scouts schools etc

we have been offfered some astronomy equipment from a lady in Davenham for £1000 i told her it is worth more but she is moving to a mobile home in 8 weeks and wants it to go to someone who will use it, it was her husbands who passed away with Covid last February this would save us a lot of moneey in the long run

When i moved to Wincham i found there was no Astronomy group near by so i started a campain and we have grown to around 20 members.
we are a small not for profit Astronomy Group who like to bring the Cosmos to the people of all ages and races and are 3 years old
we meet the first Thursday of each month in the Wincham Community Centre at 7pm to 9pm, if the skys are clear we put telescopes outside after the talk. we have contacts with Altrincham Society and with High Legh Group.
Project Owner: Wincham Parish Council & Wincham Pickmere & District Astronomy Group The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
